butter
sugar
eggs
flour
oil or milk
sugar decor
coloring of buttercream
structural supplies
a cake board
a cake box
cooling time before frosting
settling time between frosting
setting time between frosting to add various layers or textures
the building of the cake
ordering of specific decor/custom details
toppers
piping, floral decor, unique textures and/or hand created decor

Some of the simplest designs require just as much preparation as the more complex designs. Ingredients and materials of high quality are also not exempt from simple designs and can significantly elevate the final product’s taste and appearance. Both simple and complex designs require careful planning, attention to detail, and skillful execution.
